Refuelling times for Toyota hydrogen cars are also comparable to petrol vehicles—typically around five minutes—addressing one common concern about electric vehicles’ longer recharge times. However, one of the current challenges in New Zealand remains the limited availability of hydrogen refuelling stations; as of now, these are primarily located in larger cities such as Auckland and Wellington. Ongoing investment in expanding the hydrogen refuelling network will be critical to increasing practicality for regional travel.
